Plaza de la Corredera is Córdoba's only enclosed arcaded square — a 17th-century rectangle of red-brick arches that has served as a bullfight arena, a public execution ground, and a market. Today it hosts a Sunday antiques market and some of the city's better tapas bars under the arches. Hotels in this part of Centro sit in a more local, less tourist-dense neighbourhood than the Judería — the trade-off for the 10-minute walk to the Mezquita is cheaper restaurants and morning coffee without queues. Casa de los Azulejos on Calle Fernando Colón is 50 metres from the square, with a seasonal pool, original Sevillian azulejos, homemade breakfast, and free parking included from €72. Cats Hostel is 4 minutes away in a former monastery with a flowery patio from €15. Hospes Palacio del Bailío sits nearby with Roman ruins under the restaurant floor — Córdoba's most architecturally layered luxury hotel.

Casa de los Azulejos is 50 metres from the square — 9 rooms, original 1934 Sevillian azulejos, seasonal pool, and free parking included. One of the best-value hotels in Córdoba's centre (from €72, breakfast included). Hospes Palacio del Bailío is a few minutes away for those who want a 5-star experience in a 16th-century palace with Roman mosaics (from €218).
The square puts you 10 minutes from the Mezquita, 5 minutes from Plaza Tendillas, and in a neighbourhood with properly local tapas bars and a Sunday antiques market. The morning produce market under the arches is one of the quieter pleasures in Córdoba. It's a good choice if you want to feel like you're in a real city rather than a tourist quarter.
The Sunday market sets up from around 9am to 2pm — antiques, second-hand books, silverware, and local crafts. The bars under the arches open early and do good morning coffee. It's the kind of market where Córdobans actually browse, not a souvenir market aimed at visitors.
About 10 minutes on foot to the Mezquita, passing through the heart of the old city. The Synagogue is 8 minutes. Plaza de la Corredera is at the eastern edge of the historic centre — close enough to walk everywhere but outside the densest tourist corridor, which means quieter streets and more genuine neighbourhood feel.
