Off the radar
La Fuente 12 does not appear in the tourist guides. This small family restaurant in the city centre draws mainly local Córdobans — people who know where to eat well without paying tourist prices. A few tables, photos on the walls, nothing designed to impress. The cooking does the work.
Everything made from scratch
No industrial products, nothing pre-made. The croquetas de jamón use homemade bechamel, properly creamy. The chivo marinado al ajillo (garlic-marinated kid goat) is tender and fragrant, cooked low and slow. The rabo de toro falls off the bone, as it should.
The classics
Berenjenas con miel arrive crisp, with cane honey drizzled on top. The house flamenquín is generous and well-seasoned. Nothing here tries to be inventive. Every dish is prepared carefully with fresh market produce, and that is enough.
Budget and tips
Expect €22–32 for a hearty meal with house wine. Portions are generous — occasionally overwhelming. Reserve at weekends or arrive around 2pm for lunch, 9pm for dinner. The owner knows her regulars by name. A good honest address between sightseeing stops.
