Car parks near the centre

Driving into Córdoba and wondering where to leave the car? These six car parks are the most practical options. La Ribera is the go-to choice if your main stop is the Mezquita-Cathedral.

Car park Location Per hour Per day
La Ribera Garage Closest Guadalquivir River, near Mezquita €1.50–2.00 €15.50
Córdoba Centro Avenida del Aeropuerto €2.00 €13.00

Best value for day trippers: Córdoba Centro charges just €13/day — but La Ribera Garage (€15.50/day) saves you a longer walk if the Mezquita is your main stop.

Street parking: the zona azul

Blue-painted lines mark Córdoba's regulated street parking zones. The system is straightforward once you know the hours — and it's completely free at weekends and on public holidays.

Free parking options

Free parking exists in Córdoba, though it takes a short walk to reach the monuments. Here are the main spots.

Near Calahorra Tower

The area south of the river, around the Roman Bridge, has unregulated street parking. It's a short walk across the bridge to the Mezquita.

Free at all times

Blue zones at weekends

Every Saturday and Sunday — and on all public holidays — the entire zona azul network is free. No need to pay at meters or via app.

Sat, Sun & holidays

Peripheral residential streets

Streets outside the regulated zone in residential neighbourhoods are unmetered. The trade-off is a longer walk into the centre.

Always free

Informal parking attendants: In some free areas near the river you may encounter unofficial ushers who gesture you into spaces. A small tip of €0.50–1.00 is customary but entirely voluntary. They have no official status.

Practical tips

Avoid the historic centre by car

Córdoba's old town is largely pedestrianized. Streets in the Judería are medieval-narrow, access is restricted and turning around is genuinely difficult. Park at the perimeter and walk — the distances are short.

Download the app before arriving

The official Córdoba Parking Meter App, EasyPark, and ElParking all work in the zona azul. Setting them up takes a few minutes — do it before you're circling for a space.

Book hotel parking in advance

Many hotels in the centre offer guest parking — but spaces are limited and sometimes at extra cost. Confirm availability when booking, especially during Semana Santa, Feria, and summer. For general advice on staying safe (including car security), see our safety tips.

Plan for peak periods

Weekends, July–August, Semana Santa, and the Feria de Córdoba are when spaces disappear fastest. Arriving before 10am or pre-booking a spot via Parclick makes a real difference.

Disabled parking

A valid Tarjeta de Discapacidad (disabled badge) lets you use designated spaces at major car parks, including SABA facilities. Display the badge clearly and check each car park's specific rules.

Electric vehicles get a free first hour

Since January 2026, EVs receive a 100% discount on the first hour of zona azul regulated parking. Bring proof of vehicle type if prompted.

Parking at the train station

If you're arriving in Córdoba by car and plan to spend most of your time on foot, the SABA car park at the train station is a solid option.

SABA Estación Tren Córdoba

Located at Calle Arqueólogo García y Bellido, s/n (14011). The car park sits directly at Córdoba's main railway station, which is itself well connected to the city centre by bus and on foot.

  • Approximate cost: €1.50–2.00/hr, around €15.00/day
  • Walk to Mezquita: 26 minutes on foot
  • Bus connection: City bus from the station to the centre
26 min
walk to Mezquita
~€15
per day

Pre-booking recommended — especially in peak season. Use Parclick or the SABA website to reserve a space in advance and often get a discounted rate.

Frequently asked questions

Is it a good idea to drive into Córdoba's historic centre?

Generally, no. The historic centre has extensive pedestrian zones, medieval-narrow streets and very limited parking. Most visitors are better off parking at La Ribera Garage or another peripheral car park, then walking. The Judería and the area around the Mezquita are heavily pedestrianized — you can not get close by car anyway.

How much does parking cost in Córdoba?

Car parks charge €2.00–2.95 per hour and €13–19 per day, depending on location. Blue zone street parking costs €1.20–1.50 per hour during regulated weekday hours. Weekends and public holidays are free on the street.

Can I pay for parking by phone?

Yes. The official Córdoba Parking Meter App, EasyPark, and ElParking all work in the zona azul. You can start, stop, or extend a session without returning to the meter. Coins still work at street meters if you prefer.

Where is the closest parking to the Mezquita?

La Ribera Garage, by the Guadalquivir River, is the closest paid option at €15.50/day. It's a short walk from there to the Mezquita-Cathedral. Free street parking near the Calahorra Tower is also within walking distance, across the Roman Bridge.

Is there free parking in Córdoba?

Yes — on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays the entire blue zone is free. You can also park for free near the Calahorra Tower (south bank of the Guadalquivir) at any time, and in unregulated residential streets on the city's periphery.

What are the zona azul parking hours?

In winter (September–June), commercial zones are regulated Monday–Friday 9am–2pm and 5pm–9pm, plus Saturday 9am–2pm. In summer (July–August), hours shift to Monday–Saturday 8am–3pm. Weekends and holidays are always free. Maximum stay is 120 minutes per session.

Do electric vehicles get a parking discount?

Yes. Since January 2026, electric vehicles receive a 100% discount on the first hour of regulated blue zone parking. After the first hour, standard rates apply.
